Deafening Silence

You pull open the heavy basement door and step into the kitchen. The house is dead quiet. The digital clock on the microwave is dark. You flick a light switch by the door, but nothing happens. The power is definitely out.

Sunlight streams through the kitchen window, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. Everything looks normal, just... still. Too still. The only sound is your own breathing.

What do you do?

Look out the window into the street. Search the kitchen for supplies. Go back to the safety of the basement.
